“Knickerbocker's History of New York” is the book by Washington Irving, an American writer who was born in New York City on April 3, 1783. It is published in December, 1809, with which Washington living, at the age of twenty-six, first won wide credit and influence. Knickerbocker's History of New York is a satire on self-important local history and contemporary politics.
