《中国高校英语学习者中介语发展中个体变异的跟踪研究》在动态系统理论的视阈下,通过对四名英语学习者行跟踪研究,对他们中介语发展的过程行描述,通过对比找出了个体内及个体间中介语发展的变异,并对造成这些变异的原因行了分析。本书在对四个个案行分析的基础上提出,中介语发展可以被看作一个由两个阶段组成的连续体。本书梳理出四种二语发展类型:平衡快速发展型、部分快速发展型、综合缓慢发展型、僵化型。本书的研究结果有助于对二语习得发展规律的探讨,并对中国英语教学有一定的指导意义。本书具有较高的学术价值。
