《常识:影响世界历史进程的书》作者托马斯·潘恩(Thomas Paine)1737年出生于英格兰,1774年在富兰克林的帮助下到达北美大陆,投身于北美的独立事业,并在1776年以“一个英国人”的名义发表了《常识》,《常识:影响世界历史进程的书》成为北美人民的斗争纲领,其思想被随后的《独立宣言》所吸收。中译本对该书评价为“全世界本真正的畅销书”,“在1776年的北美大陆,几乎人手一本《常识》。在当时的英国,它是《圣经》之后影响力,流传范围广的一本书。整个世界、整个的现代政治文明都从这本书里得到启蒙。” 《社会契约论》本译本是根据法国伽里马出版社1964年的版本译出,编者在涉及卢梭的某一论点时,往往将对卢梭产生启发和影响的相关作者的论述以注释形式列于文末,这就使本版本具有鲜明的互文性。译者将其中重要的注释译出,以供有兴趣的读者参考或查阅。书中所涉及的人名及地名为译者所注。 《乌合之众》是一部讲透政治、经济、管理的心理学巨著,被誉为群体心理学的开山之作。全书深入浅出地剖析了群体的种种特点及其成因,精致地描述了集体心态,对人们理解集体行为的作用以及对社会心理学的思考发挥了巨大影响。作者在书中以预言家般的洞察力,成功描述了此后一百多年间包括两次世界大战和众多民主革命等几乎所有重大事件。
