在翻译研究日益多元化的今天,翻译教材建设问题逐渐引起了翻译界国内外学者的关注。在国外,对教材的研究主要是探讨外语教材的设计、选择和使用,代表性学者有Jack C.Richards, Brian Tomlinson, Alan Cunningsworth, Cay Dollerup 等。 本书从跨学科角度出发,主要用定性的途径,通过宏观与微观、历时与共时相结合的方法,包括查阅文献资料、发放翻译教材编写调查问卷、考察市场和学生需求、个案访谈和课堂观察等手段,运用比较法、归纳法和推理法对所取得的信息材料行论证和总结,从多重角度来论考察1980年到2008年期间我国英语专业本科生翻译教材的建设问题,对良好的传统与行之有效的翻译原则加以继承性发展,将翻译理论与研究和相关教学理论、心理学理论、交际学理论、可读性理论以及营销学理论结合起来,以便建立具有中国特色的、系统性翻译教材建设理论。所以,本研究可以被视为翻译研究的一种补充或延伸,也是对相关跨学科理论的丰富和发展。同时也希望对挑选翻译教材、翻译实践和翻译教学等方面有所裨益。 引言部分主要阐明本研究的重要性和必要性,界定一些重要的概念,介绍研究方法和全书的主要内容架构。 在简要地回顾了中外翻译教材研究之后,本书第一章对翻译教材建设行重新定位,首次提出翻译教材建设应纳霍尔姆斯的应用性翻译研究范围,从而确立其重要性和很强的实践性,一步推动我国应用性翻译理论的发展。
