Tr?g?nd linie, am spune c? ne afl?m ?n prezen?a unui demers pertinent de mare actualitate, a unui pre?ios instrument de lucru menit s? umple un gol ?n literatura didactico-?tiin?ific? de specialitate, dar totodat? put?nd deveni util ?i unor cercuri intelectuale interesate de evolu?ia fenomenului poetic rusesc ?n secolul XX, situate ?n afara comunit??ii universitare. (Mircea Croitoru) E o bibliotec? umbl?toare. A citit mii de c?r?i ale altora ?i a scris c?teva ale sale. ?l recuno?ti dintr-o mie. Ziarele, revistele, c?r?ile ?i sunt lipite de degete. Merge pe strad? ?i cite?te, a?teapt? lini?tit la o coad? ?i cite?te. Absent pentru lumea aceasta viermuitoare ?i pragmatic?, el s-a retras protector ?n spatele ziarelor ?i c?r?ilor, ?i a rezistat. Cu o ?inut? sobr?, de o ?epeno?enie verde, demn? de ?ara Fagilor de unde-?i trage ob?r?ia, nu-i po?i da anii pe care, incredibil, ?i are. (…) ?ntr-o m?n?stire de c?r?i. Prietenii ?i spun Dima. Am tradus ?mpreun? din Bulat Okudjava volumul de versuri C?ntecul esen?ial ?i, din mul?i al?i poe?i contemporani ru?i, ?n periodice. MX Book of New Sherlock Holmes Stories - Part VI
¥186.29
2017 is the 130th anniversary of the publication of A Study in Scarlet, the first recorded adventure of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John H. Watson. What an amazing journey it's been! In addition to the pitifully few sixty tales originally presented in The Canon, published between 1887 and 1927, there have been literally thousands of additional Holmes adventures in the form of books, short stories, radio and television episodes, movies, manuscripts, comics, and fan fiction. And yet, for those who are true friends and admirers of the Master Detective of Baker Street, where it is always 1895 (or a few decades on either side of that!) these stories are not enough. Give us more! In 2015, The MX Book of New Sherlock Holmes Stories burst upon the scene, featuring stories set within the correct time period, and written by many of today's leading Sherlockian authors from around the world. Those first three volumes were overwhelmingly received, and there were soon calls for additional collections. Since then, the popularity has only continued to grow. Two more volumes were released in 2016, and this the first of two planned for 2017 - with no end in sight! The thirty-five stories in this volume - now bringing the total number of narratives and participating authors in this series to well over one-hundred! - represent some of the finest new Holmesian storytelling to be found, and honor the man described by Watson as "e;the best and wisest ... whom I have ever known."e; All royalties from this collection are being donated by the writers for the benefit of the preservation of Undershaw, one of the former homes of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Part VI: 2017 Annual features contributions by: Bob Byrne, Julie McKuras, Derrick Belanger, Robert Perret, Deanna Baran, G.C. Changing Women's Lives
¥186.29
Rosemary Murray (1913-2004) was the eldest of six children in a happy, talented and energetic family whose deeply-engrained attitude of service to the community she inherited. She studied chemistry at Oxford, becoming one of the first women at LMH to achieve a DPhil. in science, and began an academic career as a lecturer at Royal Holloway College. The charmed world of Rosemary's childhood and student days vanished abruptly with the outbreak of war. Enlisting in the WRNS as a rating, she served from 1942- 46, attaining the rank of Chief Officer. Post-war she was head-hunted by Cambridge University as Demonstrator in Chemistry combined with a Lectureship at Girton College. Here she became interested in women's education, witnessing the success of the long battle to allow women to take degrees and becoming a committee member of the Third Foundation Association, a movement to set up a third women's college. Eventually, when New Hall was started, she became its first Tutor-in-Charge, and later, President. She went on to become the first woman Vice-Chancellor of Cambridge University.

The Best of Grand Designs
¥184.23
A complete celebration of Britain’s favourite architectural show. Grand Designs is broadcast in over 130 countries and regularly gleans 5 million viewers in the UK. Its success, says Kevin, is due to 'good old-fashioned story telling; of joy and sorrow, torment and triumph, expressed tangibly in the making of a building'. To celebrate fourteen glorious years of film-making, 100 editions of Grand Designs Magazine, 100 separate programmes and ten years of hosting the Stirling Prize, Kevin now delves into the archives to highlight his favourite projects. The Best of Grand Designs charts where domestic architecture has come from, and is moving to, in the first decade or so of a new millennium. And it places people at the centre of the stories of these buildings. Each project is supported by beautiful photography, building plans and Kevin’s own personal analysis, together with commentary from his long-time collaborator, Isabel Allen. From the off-grid ecological approach of woodsman Ben Law in Sussex to the quirky experimentalism of Sarah Wigglesworth and Jeremy Till’s straw bale house in London, Kevin demonstrates how Grand Designs continues to contribute to television history and why it provides an important legacy for good house design.
