They include the four surviving written works of the ancient Indian tradition on the subject of dharma, or the rules of behavior recognized by a community. The oldest Dharmasutra is generally believed to have been that of Apastamba, followed by the dharmasutras of Gautama, Baudhayana, and an early version of Vasishtha. Di antara tawanan itu terlihat seorang wanita sedang mencari-cari anaknya, lalu jika ia mendapatkan seorang bayi di antara tawanan langsung mengambil bayi itu, mendekapkannya ke perut untuk disusui. Rasulullah saw berkata kepada kami, "Bagaimana pendapat kamu sekalian, apakah wanita ini akan melemparkan anaknya ke dalam api?" Kami menjawab, "Tidak, demi Allah, sedangkan dia mampu untuk tidak melemparnya."? Rasulullah saw bersabda, "Sungguh Allah lebih mengasihi hamba-Nya daripada wanita ini terhadap anaknya." (HR Muslim). Karena sedemikian kasih dan sayangnya Allah pada kita, Allah sangat senang bila seorang hamba telanjur berbuat dosa lalu bertobat, berjanji sepenuh hati tak akan pernah mengulangi perbuatannya.

Spreading throughout the Mediterranean and Europe, the Black Death is estimated to have killed 30–60% of Europe's total population. All in all, the plague reduced the world population from an estimated 450 million down to 350–375 million in the 14th century. The aftermath of the plague created a series of religious, social, and economic upheavals, which had profound effects on the course of European history. It took 150 years for Europe's population to recover. The plague recurred occasionally in Europe until the 19th century."

It was located 118 miles (190 km) south of Aswan and served as the point of departure for caravans avoiding the Dongola bend in the river by striking out directly across the desert to Abu Hamad.
