《全宋词》简体横排增订本，是据中华书局一九七九年版唐圭璋编《全宋词》繁体竖排本和一九八一年版孔凡礼编《全宋词补辑》本改版重排的。自一九九九年初问世后，受到了广大读者的关注和欢迎。 近年来，宋词研究和考订工作大有展，出现了一些新资料。新成果，但因唐圭漳王仲闻先生生前未曾授权编辑部对《全宋词》的内容体例作任何实质性的增删修订，编辑部的工作便只能局限于《改版重印说明》中交代过的四个方面，因此，这些新资料、新成果无法在本书中得到全面的体现。此次重印，我们仅对已经发现的二十馀处文字和标的错误作了订正。 一九九九年增订新版《全宋词》问世的同时，我们约请冉休丹先生编制了《全宋词作者索引凡》，兼收唐圭璋《全宋词》和孔凡礼《全宋词补辑》中的全部作者，单印一册，随新版《全宋词》一起发行。此次重印，我们将此索引附刊于新版《全宋词》第五册之后，以方便使用。

人民文学出版社的《*诗词选》（以下简称《诗词选》）和中央文献出版社的《*诗词集》（以下简称《诗词集》）。先就《诗词选》说，这个选本的好处：一、是注明诗词的创作年份，有的还注明创作月份，可以从中考究创作时的背景。二、对每首诗词创作的时代背景都作了说明，更有助于对诗词的理解。三、对有的词，还引了“作者自注”，由作者自己来说明词的主题思想，避免误解。再看《诗词集》，在《诗词选》收诗词五十首外，再加收十七首，共收诗词六十七首。分为正编四十二首，副编二十五首。正编都经作者校订定稿，除《贺新郎·别友》、《七律·吊罗荣桓同志》、《贺新郎·读史》三首是在作者逝世后由中共中央于1978年9月决定发表的。这些诗词是作者的上乘之作，奠定了他作为伟大诗人的历史地位。副编二十五首诗词，大体上分为两类，一是由作者反复修改或审定的，二是没有再修订的。
