The Horror at Martin's Beach
¥8.98
Sailors kill a 50-foot creature at sea after a lengthy battle. The creature bears strange anatomical irregularities such as a single large eye and rudimentary forelegs and six-toed feet in place of pectoral fins. After inspection by marine biologists, it is revealed to be just a juvenile. The captain who captured the creature tours the coast and profits from the corpse of the deceased creature. As the captain attempts to finish his business at Martin's Beach, a group of swimmers are attacked. The captain and others attempt to rescue the victims but it is too late. The rescuers and the captain are hypnotized and pulled into the water by the creature's apparently vengeful mother, to the horror of an onlooking crowd.

He can tell tales! In an evening, when a child sits so nicely at the table, or on its little stool, Ole Luckoie comes. He comes so quietly into the house, for he walks without shoes; he opens the door without making any noise, and then he flirts sweet milk into the children's eyes; but so gently, so very gently, that they cannot keep their eyes open, and, therefore, they never see him; he steals softly behind them and blows gently on their necks, and thus their heads become heavy. ??Oh yes! But then it does them no harm; for Ole Luckoie means nothing but kindness to the children, he only wants to amuse them; and the best thing that can be done is for somebody to carry them to bed, where they may lie still and listen to the tales that he will tell them.

IN ancient times, when the city of Rome was at the height of its power and splendor, it was the custom, as it is in fact now with the inhabitants of wealthy capitals, for the principal families to possess, in addition to their city residences, rural villas for summer retreats, which they built in picturesque situations, at a little distance from the city, sometimes in the interior of the country, and sometimes upon the seashore. There were many attractive places of resort of this nature in the neighborhood of Rome. Among them was Antium.??The beauty and the salubrity of Antium made it a very attractive place of summer resort for the people of Rome; and in process of time, when the city attained to an advanced stage of opulence and luxury, the Roman noblemen built villas there, choosing situations, in some instances, upon the natural terraces and esplanades of the promontory, which looked off over the sea, and in others cool and secluded retreats in the valleys, on the land. It was in one of these villas that NERO was born.??NERO's father belonged to a family which had enjoyed for several generations a considerable degree of distinction among the Roman nobility, though known by a somewhat whimsical name. The family name was Brazenbeard, or, to speak more exactly, it was Aheno-barbus, which is the Latin equivalent for that word. ?

The twelve short stories presented in A Bit of A Twist are each mostly normal and ordinary, but somewhere in the story is a twist. In “David’s Not Here”, “Marriage Counselor”, “Down Home”, “River Road”, “Happily Ever After”, and “Blind Date”, the ending takes a bit of a twist from what you were probably expecting. “The Chateau de Puyguilhem” and “The Wish” take stories you’re already familiar with, and give the whole thing a bit of a twist. “Reunion”, “Eternal Youth”, and “Aliens Among Us” each have a bit of a mental twist. And “Air of Authority” shows what happens when you twist around words. As you read these stories, you will also discover that many of them involve some degree of revenge. Because, after all, what is revenge but twisting someone’s own actions back on them? And as always, each story in the Read on the Run series of anthologies is short, to suit your busy lifestyle.

The Book of Princes and Princesses: "Developer Tales for Kids"
¥18.80
PREFACE?All the stories about Princes and Princesses in this book are true stories, and were written by Mrs. Lang, out of old books of history. There are some children who make life difficult by saying, first that stories about fairies are true, and that they like fairies; and next that they do not like true stories about real people, who lived long ago. I am quite ready to grant that there really are such things as fairies, because, though I never saw a fairy, any more than I have seen the little animals which lecturers call molecules and ions, still I have seen people who have seen fairies—truthful people. ??This book about Princes and Princesses is not one which a child is obliged to read. Indeed the stories are not put in order, beginning with the princes who lived longest ago and coming down gradually to people who lived nearest our own time. The book opens with the great Napoleon Bonaparte, who died when some very old people still living were alive. Napoleon was not born a prince, far from it; his father was only a poor gentleman on a wild rough little island. But he made himself not merely a king, but the greatest of all emperors and generals in war. He is not held up as a person whom every boy should try to imitate, but it is a truth that Napoleon always remained a boy in his heart. He liked to make up stories of himself, doing wonderful things which even he was unable to do. When he was a boy he played at being a general, making snow fortresses and besieging them, just as many boys do. And when he was a man he dreamed of conquering all the East, Asia, and India, and Australia; and he tried to do all that, but it was too much even for him.

(asistent medical, medic, psiholog, nutri?ionist, ergoterapeut, kinetoterapeut). Totodat?, el se adreseaz? lucr?torilor ?n psihiatrie, precum ?i tuturor celor care au avut experien?e psihiatrice, fie ca pacien?i, fie ca apar?in?tori.??n psihiatria social?, accentul se pune pe confruntarea uman? cu omul bolnav psihic, adic? ?i caracterul diferit, str?in, pe care abia dac? ?n psihiatria social? este ?ntotdeauna vorba despre proiectarea acestei rela?ii complexe, despre completitudinea percep?iei mele ?n ceea ce ?l prive?te pe cel?lalt, despre aten?ia fa?? de el ?i despre propria-mi disponibilitate pentru nou, pentru nea?teptat. Ideea este de a ?nv??a continuu.“
