NEIL WAVERLEY returns home one evening from the major bank branch in the centre of London bank where he works, to discover that his wife has left him. She leaves a note to say that she is leaving him after having had an affair with another man for the last six months. He finds solace in the company of PAULA STRATTON, a woman who has just joined the amateur dramatic society that Waverley has belonged to for some years. When she discovers that he is a senior bank manager, she starts to formulate a foolproof plan by which he can steal the best part of a million pounds in sterling and get away with it. At first, he considers the idea to be crazy but she tells him that she loves him and her main aim is to help him get over the hurdle of grieving for his wife who has gone to live with her lover in New York. She induces Waverley to go to Spain with her for a week, in separate rooms, to get over his depression and she tries to explain the plan but he is not receptive to the idea. Whilst there, he reads an English newspaper which stresses that his bank is going to make 20,000 staff redundant, so he reflects on Paula's plan and eventually decided to go through with it. ERNEST CROZIER, another manager at the bank, searches for any means to bring Waverley down so that he may gain promotion and he uses his subordinate, Abbott, to do the research. Abbott is enthusiastic because it could mean his promotion, so together they keep tracking Waverley's movements and activities with great suspicion on everything he does. .FRED WILSON, a itinerant burglar, is the bete-noire of MARLEY, the Chief Inspector of a small police station. Marley has an obsession about the burglar who has upgraded his activities to robbing banks and he has sleepless nights thinking about capturing the criminal , willing to do anything to achieve that aim. After two failures in robbing banks, Marley eventually catches Wilson with the goods in his possession. However Paula's plan proves to be perfect. She and Waverley fly to the Argentine to live with a million pounds in sterling while Wilson gets away with blue murder but no money. An intriguingly clever plot on how a bank manager could get away with a million pounds whereby no one would ever suspect him as being the thief.

Paradigm of Success
Paradigm of Success
Frame, John

Personal success comes from taking positive action. Yet not everyone is able to take positive action and therefore they fail to meet their potential in life. Why is that? What is it that stops people from being as sucecssful as they could be? I believe I have the answer to these questions and it is all to do with Paradigms. This is because there is a direct correlation between our paradigms and how we act and behave. By changing our paradigms we immediately change the way we think and act. And because we attract to ourselves what we think about, it is essential we think about, dream about and envision our future. Our paradigms attract what is required to achieve our visions and what make us successful. The Paradigm of Success sets out a journey towrads success through having a powerful visionenergised by action that is synergised by a strong sense of 'why' and 'belief' which are framed by the paradigms. It is a journey of incremental learning that when applied may empower us to make a positive difference in our own lives and in the lives of others.

And Off We Go
And Off We Go

¥19.52
And Off We Go is a collection of stories lending wings to our curiosity and taking us through space and time! The first one introduces us to the Vikings, who taught their children how to coexist with the frozen seas and respect the animals. In the second tale we visit the African Bushmen and get to know their very special way of learning how to hunt. The third one takes place in Japan and describes how a samurai preserves the honour of a persecuted princess, while in the fourth we learn about understanding dreams with the Navajo, a native American tribe. The stars in the fifth story bring together two girls - a Masai and an Australian - marked by fate in the same manner. Through these tales we learn how to listen to the wind and how to understand people different from ourselves. The goal of these stories is for the readers to become fascinated by fantasy journeys. The young readers will take their own knowledge of the world and their family with them on these journeys, and learn about different ways of life full of similar mutual relations and identical fears and joys. They will learn that many different peoples or groups of people live or have lived in the world, that every group has certain peculiarities we can look up to and make use of living in the today's world, or simply discover what people can find their own little shares of happiness in. However, the most important message is the realisation that we are all very much alike despite all the differences. We love our nearest and dearest, we laugh at a funny story, and we are upset by injustice, regardless of when, where in the world, and what family we were born into. The collection of stories And Off We Go will help you discover at least some of your secret wishes and chase away prejudice and fears. These five stories will change your outlook at the world. For the better.

100 Party Games for Children
100 Party Games for Children
Quick, P S
¥19.52
Party games have been played and enjoyed by children for years. This book contains some favourites that have been played for centuries as well as some with modern twists and ideas of how to adapt games for a variety of ages and interests. There are also new games that are linked to modern times. Some games are more suitable for outdoor areas rather than a confined indoor space but most can just be adapted slightly to suit the venue. There are also a variety of games such as quiet games, active games, treasure hunts, team games, balloon games and a selection of others. The games include both competitive and non competitive games. Most people today recommend that the majority of games are non competitive so that children do not become disappointed or upset. Team games can encourage children to work together and support each other if a child is challenged and not coping with the activity. Although a winner might be declared it is usually a good idea to have a small prize for everyone. Awarding points for games is one way of avoiding constantly giving out small presents. Points can be collated and then everyone given a party bag when it is time to go home so that no one leaves empty handed. It could also be agreed at the beginning of a party that prizes can be shared such as a box of small treats as a prize for a treasure hunt.

Richie is falling, he's certain to be killed as he hits the bottom of the quarry he's tumbled over the edge of. His life is saved by the intervention of a disembodied being he eventually comes to call a Guardian of Reality. But there's a snag. The voice gives him super powers, so he isn't hurt by the fall. Trouble is, it isn't super powers like Superman, it's super powers like Supergirl, which comes as a bit of a shock as you might imagine. Richie decides to put up with being a girl, having super powers does have the odd advantage. He calls himself Saskia and everything is fine - until he meets the 'real' Saskia. Saskia Hunt is a real thirteen year old girl, while Richie is only a pretend thirteen years old. The two Saskias quickly become firm friends. A friendship that survives Richie having to explain to Saskia about not actually being a girl. At this point Saskia is apparently so upset that the Voice that fiddled with Richie changes her as well, now there are two super girls. Despite the difference in age and even in gender, the two girls, Richie in his form as Saskia, remain best friends. Now the fun begins as Saskia Chandler has to learn how to be a girl. Almost the first thing that happens is a full formal evening event that sees her stuffed into a long frock and required to be a girl in front of a whole crowd of people. Quite apart from this crash course in being a young girl, Saskia Chandler finds that she and Saskia Hunt need to use their super powers to aid others as well as themselves. They never actually discover why they've been changed to be more than human, but get the occasional inkling as the Voice gets them to do things it can't apparently do for itself. This includes being shuttled around in time and space and saving the whole world - twice!
